Pat Parker
PATRICIA PARKER, C.S.W. is currently a full-time trainer for the Milwaukee Child Welfare Partnership for Professional Development located in the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Patricia received her degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and certificate in Community Mental Health from the Southern New Hampshire University. Ms. Parker has been conducting workshops and seminars since 1986. The topics she has presented on are family centered practice in child welfare program development, case management and supervision, family development, diversity and spirituality in family centered practice, foster care recruitment and retention, foster and pre-adoption parent preparation, quality assurance models in social work practice, and services to drug and alcohol affected families. Ms. Parker has expertise in "wrap around" models and services to incarcerated individuals and their families.
Ms. Parker has over twenty-eight years of experience working in the human services. She has provided in-home family services in Milwaukee, Madison, Wisconsin and Wilmington, North Carolina; worked in both public and private agencies; and offered consultation, technical assistance, and training services in 25 states a cross the country.
Ms. Parker is also an ordained minister and currently serves as a volunteer Chaplin at Southern Oaks School for Girls and the Robert E. Ellsworth Women’s Correctional Facility in Racine County, Wisconsin. She has over thirty years of experience working with young adults and teens in both communities based organizations and churches. Ms. Parker has worked with pregnant and parenting teens, incarcerated teens, in residential treatment facilities for youth with drug, alcohol and an emotional disturbance diagnosis, as well conducting annual youth workshops for church youth groups.
